About Abbie Matthews - Dot and Frankie

Abbie is a Ballarat based artist who grew up in Daylesford, surrounded by the Australian bush. After discovering her love of oil painting at a young age, she has been captivated by exploring shape, colour, texture, light and space through painting. Her work is about being in the present moment, human connection and valuing our most basic senses.

Dot and Frankie reached out to Abbie to collaborate on the Hear Her Roar t-shirt to raise funds for WRISC, a Ballarat organisation that exists to change the lives of women and children affected by family violence. WRISC believe that everyone has the right to be safe, to be treated equally and to have access to the same opportunities as everyone else. WRISC knows that violence of any kind denies people these rights.
