Elisabeth Kingman and Lisa McGlinchey - Garden Girl

Elisabeth Kingman and Lisa McGlinchey - Garden Girl
The What to Plant When Veggie and Herb Guide is the collaborative work of two Victorian sisters: Mornington Peninsula self-taught home gardener, Elisabeth Kingman, aka Garden Girl and Geelong Artist, Lisa McGlinchey. Garden Girl spends every spare minute in her beautiful and tranquil suburban garden when she is not working or being a busy mum of two and wife to a musician. Lisa harnessed her creative talents and spent over 200 hours hand painting 53 vegetables and herbs for our guide in her studio.

The original idea for the Veggie and Herb guide came when Elisabeth (Garden Girl) and her sister in law, Lisa, were unable to find one for their region (temperate Victoria) that was visually appealing and delivered the basics of what to plant when. Every one of the 53 herbs and veggies in Gardens Girl's guide began as an original acrylic painting on paper. The originals are under lock and key but you can enjoy every item by purchasing our Print or Tea Towel. Garden Girl and Lisa spent months conceiving, designing, researching and producing the guide. They wanted to give some of the proceeds of sales to help others and selected food rescue charity, FareShare, as their chosen organisation.
