As 2020 came to a close, and lockdown-weary Victorians emerged into summer and 2021 with a sense of optimism and vigour, I really wanted to capture a collection of images that are full of joy and feature quintessentially summer rituals here on the Mornington Peninsula. Continuing on from my previous Offshore and Bay Play collections which saw me photographing from both in the water, and on land, around some of the Peninsula’s busiest and most iconic hotspots – the Pillars, Mount Martha South Beach, Sorrento Sailing Couta Boat Club, and Sorrento Back beach.

Archive grade giclee print on matte fine art photographic paper.

These prints are unframed.

Lisa Atkinson - Lisa Atkinson Photographer
As a commercial lifestyle photographer specialising in “Spaces, Places, and All Things Lifestyle” my work is vibrant and detailed, with a sense of spontaneity and effortlessness, and a love of natural light inspired by living by the coast on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.

My range of fine art photographic prints are personal creative projects, and are usually in black & white, to create a sense of timelessness and a photojournalistic 'fly on the wall' (or in my case, "fly in the water") feel.

I love being out in the water, and while playing around with my camera safely tucked into its underwater housing, I have found that looking back toward the shore, toward some of these iconic beaches was a view that so many of us are so familiar with. Being out in the saltwater, eyes slightly blurry from the water and sun glare, this is a beautiful view of our beach life here on the Peninsula.

As a result, you may see that some of these images have a slight glare or water smear of their own and that these imperfections are a part of the image.
